The Baal Shem Tov felt that together they could bring the Mashiach. Unfortunately, many obstacles prevented him from reaching the Holy Land. Upon his return he moved to Medzibuz and established it as his home base until his death. During those almost 20 years he gathered around him a core group of scholars who assisted him in launching the Chassidic movement.
