It was done in secret and King Saul who was still King knew nothing of this. He had already been informed that his kingship would not continue which had a severe effect on his emotional and mental state of mind. He was given advice that music might calm him and David was called to play music for him. Thus began a very complicated and complex relationship between King Saul and his family and David, as will be discussed in future chapters. We also discuss at length the famous story of David fighting Goliath and many teachings connected to that incident.
