The Secret of the Korban The book of Vayikra opens with a puzzling phrase: "He called Moshe"—without initially specifying who was calling him. Only afterward does it say, "And Hashem spoke to him." Wouldn't it have been more logical to first introduce Hashem and then state that He spoke to Moshe? Why this reversal of order? Furthermore, Moshe is commanded: "Speak to Bnei Yisrael and tell them..."—but isn't it redundant to say both "speak" and "tell"? The Torah is always precise, so why this apparent pleonasm? Then, the verse states: "A person who brings a korban from you..."—grammatically hinting at offering a human sacrifice! The intended meaning is "one of you who brings a korban," so why did the Torah choose such an unusual phrasing? Additionally, the verse continues: "From domesticated animals, from the herd or from the flock." But since the only kosher domesticated animals are from the herd or flock, why the extra clarification?
