Why conceal the very tefillah that, more than any other, might teach us how to daven when all seems lost? Even stranger—Chazal speak at length about Sichon and Og. Their names echo across the Midrash, Zohar, and Aggadah. But Moshe’s prayer? Silence. How can it be that these enemies are remembered, while Moshe’s broken heart remains almost invisible? And what about emunah? If Moshe’s tefillah wasn’t answered, what are we to believe about our own? Could this very omission plant seeds of despair in future generations?
