I miss my home in Jerusalem deeply: the streets, the hills, the light, the music, and the feeling that history is alive under your feet. I also miss a more peaceful Jerusalem - one where its beauty and holiness can be shared by all without fear. This song looks out over Jerusalem with longing, wonder, and hope. That view feels especially meaningful just over 100 years after the opening of the Hebrew University on Mount Scopus - a vision that Jerusalem would be a source of wisdom and blessing for the world. May this Yom Yerushalayim bring us closer to a Jerusalem of healing, unity, and peace.
