Some people are created good looking while others are not as much; this is no different than all of a person’s lot, which varies for each individual. Some are rich and some are poor. All circumstances are a test from Hashem. The rich person is tested to give the proper amount of charity, while the poor person is tested to accept his lot with joy. The same applies to intelligence; the person who is blessed with much intelligence is expected to attain more and to remain humble, and the person with less intelligence is challenged to accept his portion and use it accordingly. Thus, all circumstances of a person present a unique test which can lead a person in either direction.
