How Far Should You Go to Reach the Lowest Souls? (And How to Protect Yourself)

How far should a real Jewish leader actually go to reach the person who has completely checked out — and how do you make sure you don't lose yourself in the process? In this shiur we dig into the fourth principle of our Jewish leadership master class series — and it might be the most practically challenging one yet. The question Rav Moshe Chaim brought to his Rebi, Rav Yoel Rakovsky Shlita, was simple and honest: if people aren't showing up, if they have no kli to receive anything, do you go to them? And the answer he got back was three words that opened up a whole world: even under the table. To unpack that answer, we read through Rebbe Nachman's story of the Turkey Prince, found in the stories of Reb Noson. A royal prince has lost his identity entirely — he thinks he is a turkey, sits unclothed under the table pecking at scraps, and every royal physician has given up on him. Then a sage comes, strips down, gets under the table with him, and the two of them become friends. From there, slowly and strategically — shirts, then pants, then real food, then finally the table itself — the prince is fully brought back. No rushing. No fo
