The Secret to Seeing the Good in Others | Kabbalah, Leadership & the Jewish Destiny

We're talking about the mitzvah of judging others favorably, dan l'kaf zechut, but Rebbe Nachman takes it way further than you might expect. Even if someone is acting like a complete rasha, our job is to go on a search — an actual journey — and find the piece of tov that is alive inside of them. Because that neshama is always good. Always. We explore the metaphysical reality behind this idea: when you focus on the good in another person, something shifts. They start to feel it. They start to identify with that good. And when they identify with the good, the rasha part — the part that was going out to the bars, the part that had written them off as a nobody — starts to fall away on its own.
