Nussen was given the secular name George at his birth because his mother, Alice’s mother Esther in My Name is Alice, knew she wascoming to America, and she felt the name George would be very good for that because everyone knew George Washington was Americas first president. And he, like many other DP camp babies, became an American, despite his parentage. He went to American Jewish schools and he was self-employed in this country. We hope he has a miracle from good deeds of all of you. I wonder if you have found his stories interesting.
