Parsha Shiur Ekev 2026 In Parshas Ekev, Moshe repeats the story of the Jews worshiping of the Egel Hazahav 40 Days after the giving of the Torah and the resulted breaking of the Luchos. From the Pessukim it becomes clear that Moshe had the Egel itself burned, pulverized into pieces, crushed, ground up till it was as fine as dust, mixed with water and given to the Jews to drink. The Gemara explains that the purpose was similar to the function of Sotah waters given to a woman suspected of infidelity. And for some of the Jews who were guilty, the repercussions were similar to those of a Sotah.
