Insights into the Weekly Haftorah - Ki Tavo

All seven of them are from the great prophet Isaiah. In this reading God promises Israel that when the long hard exile will end, all the goodness of the world will be showered upon the people and the Land of Israel. As in all Haftorah's there are many significant and well-known verses. The opening verse is the inspiration for one of the stanzas of the beloved song Lecha Dodi sung every Friday night to greet the Shabbat bride. In fact, most of the stanzas in this song are taken from various verses from Isaiah.
