If you have been inspired by this video please share it with your friends. Thank you. This class is based on Likutey Moharan Lesson 2, Part 2: In Parshat Nitzavim, Rashi quotes the Midrash describing how Am Yisrael became frightened after hearing the curses of Parshat Ki Tavo. Moshe Rabbeinu reassured them that despite their past failures, they were still standing, because suffering can ultimately bring a Jew to turn back to Hashem. The Midrash explains that when good comes, the Jewish people thank Hashem, and this habit of hoda’ah (thanksgiving) prepares them to call out to Him in prayer when difficulties come. Rebbe Nachman teaches that gratitude is essential because in times of distress a person’s connection to truth can become confused, while the hoda’ah practiced during good times helps guide his tefillah toward the right path. The lesson is to make thanksgiving part of daily life, so that when challenges arise, turning to Hashem becomes our natural response.
