We open with a wild Gemara: Rav Yehoshua ben Levi meets Eliyahu HaNavi in the marketplace and asks him when Mashiach is coming. Eliyahu tells him to go ask Mashiach himself — and Mashiach is sitting at the gates of Rome, among the lepers. Mashiach tells him "today" — and then the day passes and he doesn't come. When Rav Yehoshua goes back to Eliyahu confused, Eliyahu explains: Mashiach was quoting the pasuk, "Today, if you listen to God's voice." We unpack what that really means for us right now and talk about the three things that can actually move the needle — loving every Yid, rebuilding a healthy self-image, and getting the Jewish nation back to learning Torah from the heart, not just the head. We also get into something the Kotsker Rebbe said that stopped us in our tracks: the greatest distance in the world is the distance between the head and the heart — that's the distance between heaven and earth. So many of us know Hashem is real but have never actually felt that relationship. We talk about how speaking directly to Hashem, telling him everything, is one of the most powerful things we can do — and how the Zohar teaches us that the real punishment after 120 years isn't just for the aveiros themselves, but for not asking Hashem for help to fight the Yetzer Hara in the first place.
