JEWISH Money Secrets EXPOSED!

Shalom Aleichem Chevra, welcome back! What if the secret to fabulous wealth was carved right into the Second Tablets — and Moshe Rabbeinu literally made bank from the shavings? In this shiur we dive deep into one of the most fascinating teachings in the Gemara about Moshe Rabbeinu carving out the Second Tablets. The Gemara tells us that the word "psal" — to carve — points to something extraordinary: as Moshe carved away the shavings of the sapphire stone to reveal the Luchot inside, he became fabulously wealthy from those very shavings. We unpack what that really means and why the Rashba and the Rambam see this as a window into the whole relationship between Ashirus and Torah. We go through some incredible examples — Rebi, who had everything on his table and fed everyone who came, Reb Shimon bar Yochai filling an entire valley with gold coins and telling his students they could take whatever they wanted but it would cost them their Olam Haba, and the Rebbe of Rizhin who walked barefoot on stone under those famous golden slippers. The Chevra sees a pattern: every major transmission point in Torah — from the Gemara through the Rishonim — had both the Ashirus and the His Bonus. The wealth was never the destination. Then we get into the big move the Rebbe is making here: the Ashirus is the Hakdama, the introduction, just like a mashal before the nimshal. All the gold, all the access, all the Lambo talk — that is the psal, the shavings around the tablets. You need to go through it, but if you get lost in it you are just hanging out with the shavings and you missed the whole point. The tablets were always inside waiting. The wealth is real, it is necessary, but it is the entry, not the destination. We also look at how this plays out from Hoshana Raba with the arava — the most rejected of the four species — going up on top of the aravot, to Michelangelo seeing David already inside the rejected stone in the quarry, to the Gemara's teaching that whoever wants to be truly great should make himself small for Klal Yisrael. The real wealth, the Chevra, the kind the prophets describe for the days of Mashiach, is when the Ashirus and the His Bonus come together — and that is exactly where this whole sugya is taking us.
