Psalm 150 commission featuring the Shofar from Rosh Hashanah 5785, day 2. Don Loze and Sinai Temple commissioned a new composition of Psalm 150 (Meir Finkelstein) incorporating the shofar. For Rosh Hashanah, Sinai Temple announced the premiere of a composition by Meir Finkelstein, commissioned by the clergy of Sinai Temple, in an original musical setting of Psalm 150 as it traditionally appears in the High Holiday service. Immediately following the Rabbi’s Rosh Hashanah sermon, a shofar blast announced the work’s world premiere. The shofar joins an ensemble of Sinai Temple’s chorus and instrumentalists, featuring a solo from a young member of the congregation paired with Cantor Marcus Feldman and music director Benjamin Fingerhut. This unique setting of Psalm 150 celebrates Sinai Temple's outreach in peace and brotherhood to all communities.
