Parashat Tzav-Shemini 5785 | Heaven Doesn't Start the Fire

On the eighth day of the Tabernacle's inauguration ceremony, fire descended from Heaven and rested atop the altar, remaining there as a sign of the presence of the Shechinah. Yet the priests serving in the Temple are still commanded to kindle the fire daily, with ordinary, human-sourced fire. How do we understand the coexistence of these two types of fire...human and Divine? And what does it teach us regarding our own sought-after relationship with the Creator? The Torah portion of Shemini (Leviticus 9 : 1 - 11 : 47) is read on Shabbat, 28 Nisan 5785 - April 26, 2025 Lovingly Recorded in Ora Studios, Jerusalem Israel _________ Rabbi Chaim Richman Jerusalem Lights | Torah for Everyone Please support the work of Jerusalem Lights, Inc., a USA recognized 501 ( c ) 3 non-profit organization to enable these productions to continue and grow: PayPal: infojerusalemlights@gmail.com or: https://paypal.me/JerusalemLights?locale.x=en_US In the USA: Jerusalem Lights Inc.
