I WENT TO MUFON AND THIS HAPPENED

This week I found myself at MUFON — the international UFO convention — and it led me to a powerful insight from the Sfas Emes on Parshas Matos. What connects, Shabbos, and Eretz Yisroel? The Sfas Emes explains that the holiness of the Land only descends when a Jew enters it. It’s not automatic — we bring the kedusha with us. The same is true with Shabbos: when we step into it, we receive a neshama yeseira. It’s our movement inward that draws the light down. You can be in Israel… and still be outside it. You can be outside… and still be deeply in. So the real question is: What’s your vector? Are you turning toward Israel — spiritually or physically?
