2. Seliḥot: The Promise of Return

In Part II of this three-part series, Rabbanit Dr. Devorah Halevy takes a closer look at several central Seliḥot prayers and traces their language back to Tanakh and the Talmud. The class explores the imagery of the lion and the dove, the origin and meaning of the Thirteen Attributes of Mercy, the story behind Anenu, and the roots of Avinu Malkeinu.
